Nineteen Eighty-Four
I made a reference to Nineteen Eighty-Four about a week ago, drawing some parallels between the book and recent events. I realized that I had not read the book in over 10 years, so it was time for a refresher. I think this is one of those books that everyone should read, no matter where you come from or where you plan on going in life.
You may look at it as simply a fine work of fiction, but then you see stories like this and you have to ask yourself which is more absurd: fiction or fact. Yes, it is written as fiction but offers a clear warning for the real world.
Read it. Make your kids read it. They will thank you in the future.
