A good multi-car pileup
I mentioned in an earlier post (as part of my highway rant) that Americans need to start thinking about cars and transportation in a different way in order to ensure that our infrastructure can continue to support our way of life. MIT is a taking a step in the right direction with their prototype of a stackable City Car. The City Car is a combination of mass transit and personal transportation, resolving the issues with “last-mile” transportation — getting from your bus/train stop to your final destination. They are extremely compact, and when parked it looks like they take up 1/4 the space of a normal car, partly because they are stackable.
